New York, NY
Developer: Project Renewal

This renovated 21-story former hotel is located centrally in Times Square across from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The Holland House provides permanent housing and supportive services for 307 residents, including the mentally ill, victims of AIDS, recovering substance abusers, formerly homeless and very low-income individuals. A 20 member social service staff offers comprehensive, on-site services including medical, psychiatric and social services to residents. There are also extensive self-sufficiency and job training programs available.

The efficiency units are fully furnished with private baths and are handicapped accessible. Common areas include meeting rooms, exercise facilities, a game room, an art studio, a theater, laundries, and lounges.

The developer, Project Renewal, has earned a reputation for successfully working with the least served and neediest homeless population – people who are disabled as well as homeless. With over 400 staff, Project Renewal reaches out to over 20,000 individuals each year – providing housing, employment, medical and psychiatric care, social services and outreach.
